I kept running into the same issues with clients as they would try to adopt a Keto Diet. What it boils down to is that, most people, not all, are not ready to jump straight into a Ketogenic Diet. We are completely switching fuel sources for most of us.
The following steps will help you ease into a Low Carb Keto diet, and keep you from stressing the body too much:
1. Lower your Carbs Slowly- Going from 300g of Carbs per day to 20g will stress the body and make you feel like garbage.
2. Add in enough healthy Fats- Without these healthy fats your just stripping the body of Carbs and Fat which will make you burn up protein as fuel.
3. (after steps 1 and 2) Start Fasting- When you can push off breakfast farther and farther, until you reach lunch time, and feel totally fine doing it, than your ready to go Keto.
