Today’s topic is what you can eat when you’re dining out.

I just want to clarify that these are MY opinions as someone who has been in ketosis for quite a few years now. You may not agree with my guides and that’s okay. This may not be the guide for you. At the end of the day, it’s your keto journey/diet/lifestyle, I’m just putting my 2 cents in here to try and help some people with the information I promote.

SUMMARY:
(I know this is a long video but I go into depth with everything I mention below)

YOU CAN STILL GO OUT FOR DINNER YOU JUST NEED TO BE MORE PREPARED

General dining out rules:
– Eliminate starches like bread, rice, pasta etc
– Be careful of sauces as they can be teeming with carbs.
– Keep your drinks keto.
– You don’t need dessert.
– You don’t have to follow a 3 course guideline… You’re paying, eat what you want.

Buffet rules:
1. Set rules before you leave your table. Make a mental note of the foods you will avoid.
2. Use a smaller plate.
3. Focus on what you CAN eat rather than what you CAN’T.
4. Enjoy your food & take your time eating.

Barbecues and picnics are pretty fail safe as they’re mainly meat and veggies.

Eating at a friends or relatives house:
1. Communicate with the chef. Don’t make yourself poorly out of politeness. It’s your lifestyle! When in doubt, tell you chef you’re eating a certain way because of stomach problems.
2. Take the edge off at home by snacking, then eat small portions of keto friendly foods whilst out. Carry fail safe foods with you.
3. Bring your own dish.
