Keto Guide – Ketosis vs Ketoacidosis.

Hello my fat adapted family! Here’s MY guide to ketosis.

Today’s topic is testing ketoacidosis.

I just want to clarify that these are MY opinions (and research!) as someone who has been in ketosis for quite a few years now. You may not agree with my guides and that’s okay. This may not be the guide for you. At the end of the day, it’s your keto journey/diet/lifestyle, I’m just putting my 2 cents in here to try and help some people with the information I promote.

SUMMARY:

Ketones are mildly acidic and the acid is usually sorted out by insulin.

Ketoacidosis will NOT happen if you’ve never had a history with Diabetes. (If it does, you’ll be 2 in 7,000,000,000)

Ketosis will not give you ketoacidosis due to the fact you have low glucose levels.

Ketoacidosis is caused by too much glucose in your blood (not being used due to insulin that doesn’t function properly due to diabetes) causing your body to make ketones.

This leads to your body trying to remove energy by making you wee.
Less water = more acid from the ketones in your blood.

THIS is ketoacidosis.
