Ingredients for Manchurian Balls:

Around 230 gms riced cauliflower
110 gms very chopped cabbage
1/2 very chopped green capsicum
handful of shallots – very finely chopped
1/2 very finely chopped red onion
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
20 gms of ginger chopped
3 green chillies
Salt to taste
1 tsp black pepper powder
30 gms of linseed meal (or flaxmeal)
20 gms of psyllium husk
10 ml dark soy sauce
40-50 gms of unflavoured whey protein isolate powder
Oil for deep frying

Ingredients for the sauce:

20 ml of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
15 gms of ginger finely chooped
2 chopped green chillies
Salt to taste
1/3 tsp black pepper powder
15 ml of dark soy sauce
20-30 ml sugrfree ketchup
20 ml of hot sauce
1 tsp stevia (or any sweetener of your choice)
100 ml water
1/2 tsp xanthan gum

Method for Manchurian balls:

Add all ingredients except whey protein powder in a bowl and give a very good mix. Make sure that the mixture starts to bind with each other (this requires some patience so keep mixing for 2-3 mins).
Leave the mixture aside for 10-15 mins.
Make some balls out of the mixture and roll them in a box filled with whey. Make sure that the balls are coated with the whey protein.
Gently add the balls to a pan with hot oil and deep fry on medium heat for about 4 mins.
Repeat the process for all balls and then keep them aside.

Method for sweet and spicy sauce:

Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger, garlic and green chilli and saute for 2 mins.
Add salt and black pepper powder. Give it a good mix.
Add soy sauce, ketchup and hot sauce. Mix it well.
Add stevia/sweetener and mix again.
Add 100 ml of water and bring to boil.
Add xanthan gum and mix it very well. Let cook for another 2-3 mins or until the sauce has thickened.

Finally add some sauce on top of your deep fried manchurian balls and you are all set 🙂
